Vision and Mission of Association of Serving Archaeologist (ASA):
- Association of Serving Archaeologists (hereafter ASA) is formed with an objective
to improve the working condition, pay structure, duties and responsibilities of
archaeologists in ASI. ASA will also dedicate itself in the restructuring of ASI as it is
one of the oldest organizations of India and some of its system has become
irrelevant. ASA will work for maintaining the cordial relation and co-operation
among its members.
- ASA will also encourage various types of training
programmes such as meetings, conferences, seminars organized to promote
various aspect of archaeology. ASA will also promote the education of
archaeology, art and culture. The association will also promote the researches in
archaeology by publishing journals, monographs, newsletters, periodicals and
such other publications.
- ASA will encourage various types of outreach
programmes to create cultural awareness among the masses by organizing
exhibitions, quiz competitions, heritage walk etc. Its members will explain the
common men about the archaeological legislations of India, duties of an
archaeologists and importance of archaeological monuments., The programmes
will be organized to train young men and women for the various aspects of
archaeology, developments of art, plays and cultural activities.
- The funds through
subscriptions and donations will also be raised by ASA for cultural education and
awareness. In addition, ASA will also dedicate itself through its members to carry
out national and international social and cultural responsibilities.
